My first dreamy brooch☆

Hi! I'm so proud of this brooch I got requested on my etsy shop that I want to share it with you:

Of course I had to repeat my beloved ''The End'' design ^_^

And of course one heart shaped brooch wasn't enough for me and I had to embroider an extra tiny heart on the back -_☆

 Cheers!

Disarm Patch + Progress

Disarm is a message to everyone who thinks that weapons are a necessity, a status or just a cool statement.
Disarm because having a gun doesn't make anyone feel protected, trendy or tough, it just creates another enemy based on people's fear.

Here is a hand embroidered patch featuring a lovely sleepy fawn and a pale pink 'Disarm' lettering on top.

And here's a step by step gif I attempted:

♡ DIY Time - Revamping An Old Pocket Mirror ♡

Hi! ♡

Today I found, lying sadly in my bag, one side of an old heart-shaped pocket mirror I don't even use because I can't stand the fabric pattern on the back. I had to face it and decided to turn it into something beatiful, here's how it turned out:

♡ and here for the instructions:

♡ So I opened up the back of the mirror, removed the frame and ripped the ugly fabric off, discovered an heart shaped piece of (old) cardboard, that you can definitely replace (me lazy).
♡ I found a nice fabric and placed it on my trusty embroidery hoop, traced around the shape of the cardboard, making it slightly bigger than the actual heart (a quarter to half an inch is ok) and started embroidering a cute design.
♡After this I cut out this shape and applied a piece of light fusible interfacing to set the stitches in place and make the whole thing sturdier.
♡ I grabbed my extra badass glue (mine is yellow and smelly) and carefully dabbed a few drops on the back of the cardboard, and placed it onto the back of the fabric.
♡ To make everything less messy I sewn (approximately) around the hangings of the fabric to keep it closed and still.
♡I finally glued the mirror carefully on the covering and glued the little frame as well to finish everything off. Put a weight onto it to dry (about one hour) while pressed and voilà:

♡ I'm so in love with it! ♡

My Opinion About Taxidermy In a Patch

https://www.etsy.com/listing/234809974/taxidermy-is-awful-let-them-rest-in?ref=listing-shop-header-3

This is one of the latest patches I realized for my Etsy shop.

I decided to make it after a saw a few articles of taxidermy sold on Etsy. What I saw there was a baby opossum closed in a jar, dead, immersed in a liquid that looks like formaldehyde then priced and listed in a shop that I chose not to mention.

It seems that shops like this cannot be reported as inappropriate (I would say completely horrible) because taxidermy which not involves pets is perfectly accepted and consistent with the terms and guidelines of sellers. Plus, the seller claims that his/her work is ''cruelty free'' assuming the fact that the animal was found dead, then opportunely treated according to international rules of taxidermy.

I then went out and searched through the internet for more infos about this procedure/tradition and, at the same time, for some ''anti-taxidermy'' fellow mindsets and unfortunately, didn't find much.
I then thought the only thing I could do to express this big sadness and disappointment was doing what I can do, embroidery in my case.

Here it is, cute little snout.

This is what I wrote on the listing of this patch:
Hi!

This is a patch I made for anybody who loves animals and respect their life cycle and therefore their death.

In my opinion non-scientific taxidermy is a really useless and heartless practice, taking profit out of it is even more repugnant.
The decision to realize this embroidered patch comes up as a reaction to many taxidermies I painfully happened to see. A reaction that I address especially to people asking even money for the production of something ''odd-looking'' or ''fashionable'' on a puppy's own skin. I don't care if this people claim their products ''cruelty free'' or ''findings'', the result is the same, abusing the Nature.

So let them please rest in peace.

That's all, I hope this awful tradition really ends forever.

✩DIY TIME!✩

Hi!
Today I'll show you  a custom embroidered patch I made for my shop.
I used a Pringles tube cap and upper border to make a tiny tiny loop. I cut a circle out in the plastic cap to make the opening of the loop:

Though it isn't a very precise circle it does its job!
Here's a step by step of my embroidery:

✩and the finished patch:

Had so much fun doing this, also for the word aha. Now it's on it's way to its new owner! ✩
